Unfortunately if you are receiving this message at the "Press A to Continue" screen it means that your profile is corrupted, and must be deleted. You will have to start a new profile and you will lose all of your cars and potentially paintjobs as well. If you have some of your designs saved to the catalog, then you may be able to re-apply them once you have deleted your profile. The same should apply for your tunes, however I cannot be 100% sure.
Your downloaded content will still be available, as it is tied to your console and not your profile. I am very sorry for your loss and I wish I could provide you with a better solution. Here are the steps to delete your profile.
In the "System" blade of the dashboard select "Memory". From there select the device that holds the Forza 2 profile information (should be Hard Drive). Then select "Games" and scroll down to "Forza Motorsport 2".
In this menu you will see all the game save files from this console. Look for the name of the active gamertag and underneath it will say "Saved Game".
Delete that file and your profile will no longer exist the next time you boot up Forza 2.
Once again I am very sorry for your loss as I completely understand how much work it takes to build up your career in Forza Motorsport 2.
